While being a contest of its own, the award is handed over at the annual TO DO Award ceremony of the Contest Socially Responsible Tourism since 2017. The “TO DO Award Human Rights in Tourism“ may be awarded to individuals, initiatives, projects, products and services all over the world. The decision on who will get the award is the result of a sighting and recommendation by a top-class expert jury.

The awards in three years were organised under the auspices of the German Commission for UNESCO.
