Objectives
The initiators’ idea follows a clear logic: The players and their touristic products and services may contribute significantly to awareness raising, to respecting and even strengthening human rights in this sector.
The “TO DO Award Human Rights in Tourism“ is meant to draw the attention of political decision-makers, business players, and target groups from this sector to the relevance of human rights in their context and to contribute to reflections on the respective problems and issues. In this regard, the award and those who received it serve as examples for all areas of tourism – all over the world.
Awarding the TO DO Human Rights at a high-publicity event at ITB Berlin, the organisers would like to present positive examples of successful protection of human rights and provide encouragement to copy the approaches and develop them further.
