TO DO Award 2018 !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre, South Africa

The objective of the organisation is the rehabilitation and preservation of the culture of the San who live in several countries across Southern Africa. The !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre near Yzerfontein focuses on three areas of work: Firstly, it functions as a tourism service provider with a restaurant and various accommodation facilities. Secondly, it is a vocational training centre for young San, aimed at providing them with job perspectives for the future after phases of uprootedness and displacement, so that they will be able to work in tourism in the regions they come from. Thirdly, !Khwa ttu promotes sustainable nature projects and cultural activities for the preservation and sharing of San culture.
